hey guys I have a mk2 xr6 ute that has had the centre muffler removed and a flash tune. my concern is on the 10 psi tune when I either a break traction or b rev it to 4500 there is a sudden loss of power and the car sounds like its dropped a cylinder or two, this continues for approx I minute then returns to normal. they mechanic? who performed the tune told me its a collapsing caty converter and I need to fork out 2 big ones for a full exhaust, I aint no mechanic but that dont make sense as the car runs fine on ford tune, my thoughts are is it the tuning or the dreaded valve spring bug or is it overboosting and not getting enuff fuel or. my plugs have been gapped is it possible the spark is blowing out on full boost. anyone else experienced this. im scared and am forced to drive on ford tune which just seems so good damn slow help :spoton:

dont go back to your "mechainic", he has his head up his ass, not all cars are the same, and your car is one of many that will need to be tuned to suit, install the 8psi map to be safe and save some coin for a custom tune, think long and hard about how much power you want as each tune will cost you $$$, if you think you will want injectors, cooler exhaust etc, do it all at once and save a sh*t load on messing about.

the "generic" tunes are suited to STCOK cars only, not cars with cooler, or second CAI or center mufflers removed etc, your car doesnt have a "problem" as such, it just needs to be tuned to suit.

Best of luck with it, and welcome to the Nuthouse.
