Sorry to hear. that's pretty scary, only like 10 minutes to steal a pretty much brand new car.. Needs to be alarmed and immobilised next time mate. And its a shame about the ford wiring which is so hard for professional alarm installers to tap into. I wanted proximity and tilt sensors on mine (F6), that I could turn off and on by a seperate switch, but no one can help me. I have had rims stolden on my brand new SS when I had it 18s, (first night I brought it home found it on bricks the next morning, had like 20 km on the clock!) and also badges 'fell off' in my driveway, so also wanted proximity sensors for the F6. Its now permanently indoors so I worry a little less now...

Its a shame...theres only a couple of ways to steal these things..one involves the keys the other involves a flat bed truck....thats why im in the habit of taking my cars keys with me in my work bag when i go to work...that way even if the house does get broken into the can get the car at least....

It looks like this is the way our cars are stolen now, or carjacked on the street.

Its getting so common here in sydney that's it makes you wonder if your gonna be next.

Get DataDots.. They mark all the parts of each car with 7,000 microdots so that the bad guys cant sell the parts, if they strip the car - or re-birth it with new compliance and build plates - often taken from a wreck..

FPV, HSV, BMW, Audi, Lexus, Subaru, Porsche, etc install them as standard - and their theft rates have reduced by around 65% as a direct result.. Now regular Falcars and Dunnydores get stolen more than FPVs and HSVs... Fact.

How can you say that data dots reduced theft by 65%, my bet is factory alarms and the new security features have done that They are only good to identify stolen part's if they come into police hands, it's a glue that is sprayed on with the dots mixed into the glue and is EASILY cleaned off.

Wrong.... 7,000 of them on a car means it's too hard to get em all off; and the police know which models have them applied by the factory - so if someone does clean them all off a part - then the coppers know it is sus.

Bottom line - the bad guys go steal a car that does not have the Dots on it, to avoid the risk and hassle.
