Yes you would need 98 fuel to tune it. It can be done without the 98 but is risky

Might be a bit risky for Tweed pedesitians as well with me gettin rid of some fuel :kekekegay: ........before the next tune being done

I was reading zoom magazine today issue 103.

it had an article about simon from nizpro talking about the xr6turbo engine and afr`s running as lean as 13-1 and 14 15-1 and relevent exhaust temps and timing and fuel octane.

I found this verry interesting reading

im a zoom suscriber and have about 100 editions of zoom :kekekegay:

I think you will find that Simon is saying that they can be run lean... and it can get more power, but as well all know running a tune lean is stupid on the street, as you are risking heaps for very little... racing is a completely different circumstance though... it's the difference between winning and losing...

And yes you should run 98 in your car when you get it tuned... you should be doing that anyway

Nope disagree.

If your tuner is professional you'd best have the car set up with 95RON first which then provides the basis for the 98RON map.

Once those 95 maps are completd the tank should be drained and refilled with fresh 98RON with no additives and the 98RON map is then completed - all done with knock sensor off and finally knock sensor ir then re-selected after tunes complete.

Haha, I was pretty much gonna say the same thing that was just said.

In conclusion, yes, the fuel has got to be in the tank for the tune.
