You’re looking at the first images of the upcoming HSV version of the recently released VE Late model camira from Holden. Due to be officially released next week, the new HSV range will be the most powerful and luxurious ever to come from Holden’s performance division.

Pictured is the HSV Clubsport, the entry level vehicle in HSV’s new VE fleet. Other cars to appear in VE guise include the Senator and heavy-hitting GTS. Power levels will be around 304kw, slightly less than the 320kW we were expecting. Considering the new cars will be up around the 1800kg mark, there might not be a great leap in terms of performance over the outgoing models.

Part of the performance package includes new 19 inch wheels as standard or the optional 20 inchers. A performance brake package will also be available, possible brands include Brembo and AP Racing and the suspension system is the same GM MagnaRide setup found in the Chevrolet Corvette. Power will come from a slightly tuned 6.0-litre LS2 V8 engine also found in the Corvette, and there may even be a range topping version utilising the LS7 engine from the ZO6. With so many parts shared with GM’s performance cars, you can be sure that a lot of the design that went into the HSV will filter down into the upcoming Camaro which is based on the same Zeta platform.
