As all this talk of LPG subs fills the goverment offices three questions strike me ...

1) can a T run on LPG without hassles and worry ..?

2) will the proposed 1000 bucks subs be bugger all on the cost of doing it ...?

3) Can you still make descent power numbers and still mod ?

I will answer these as a sponsor of the site.

1) a turbo can be run on lpg but the problem is getting a system big enough to run the car.

2)the subsidy is $2000 for a car you already have and $1000 if you go buy a new factory fitted lpg car. You can have it installed from the 14th of august but you can not claim it before october 1st as they are still setting up the rebate system for it.

You get it done and you pay for the install and than take the paper work to medicare or centrelink and get your money back.

3) as in number one.

Now to throw the spanner in the works.

All lpg systems fitted to vechiles biult after 1/1/2004 or back dated to the begining of the ba falcon and vy Late model camira have to be emission and adr complaint which is very expansive to have done.

There is systems available for the standard ba's that re legal but as the turbo is regarded as a different motor there is no legal kit on the market at the moment.

Also there would only be the vapour ventury system that would have enough flow.

So in short no at this stage for the turbo.
