the four beeps was the oil presure.

what happened was the car computer thought the car should be running after cranking, and there was no oil presure, because it did not start.

so the only thing that went wrong, was that the car had trouble starting for some reason,

                      David

awesome! that makes sense then :spoton: it hasn't had an issue since. I checked the oil today, and its perfect. It must have been because it half cranked over and then died.

Its had trouble starting ever since gapping the plugs to .75

Although, I wouldn't say that starting it is hard.. it some times just doesn't always kick over on first crank.

Cheers for the replies guys, I'm guessing I got nothing major to worry about :msm:

now why doesnt it start on the first go? whats up with that?? might be worth looking into :kissmy:

THe T has never miss-fired, I have gotten used to it catching at the same time after turning the key, so I release it instinctively, whether it has caught or not.

The T will always catch, but the XT will sometimes take an extra second of turning over. All I am doing is not holding the key long enough. Its no the cars fault! Its mine! :msm:

One thing I do, is pause the key switch in the "ON" position momentarily before switching to start . (engine cranking)

I can hear the fuel pumps priming the system. (I have an aux inline pump)

When the fuel pumps stop is when I crank the engine over.

No problems.... starts every time.

All I know is that the convetional LPG (carby style) is about $2500 fitted and may not be suited to the turbo. But the new injected LPG conversion kits are about $3500 fitted and no power loss with a 10% fuel usage increase on LPG. Something worth looking at

No system big enough yet to run the turbo with injected system.

There is old style system that are bigger enough but they will not be adr and emissions complaint so are illegal.

Ian

there is a gas system that uses dual fuel

gas for normal power levels and petrol for when max power is required changes

as you go.

Happened to me today in my T. Just finished a drive down to Bunbury ( 2 hours south of Perth ) and had a meeting that went for 2 hours - got back in and would not start the first or second time - then those fourbeeps!

This has happed three or four times now -:spoton:

T is due for 60k service + I'll let them try and fix it!

So do I - but I find the N/a motors turn over just touch more than the Turbo ones (at least in my case, and the same could be said about my old ED, which started every time, just not if I let go of the key too enthusiastically).

I pause on the on position as a habit I picked up from driving Turbo Diesels, waiting for the glow plugs to warm up. Now I pause on everything I drive.

If you let the key go part way through turning the engine over and it dies, good luck starting with out sounding like a taxi that won't catch for the next 30sec. It says in the manual to let the car sit for 10seconds before trying to turn it over again so the ignition system can sort it self out.
