Can you start the overtaking maneuver before the double lanes and finish it let's say 10-20m in to the double lanes or do you have to get back to your side of the road before reaching double lanes.I tried finding the answer in the nsw road rules but didn't find anything. It is necessary to finish the overtaking manouver before the double lines, the offence clearly defines the rule ( Cross unbroken line et al ). If you want me to look up the legislation there will be a delay until mid next year as I am about to have major back surgery.

I do remember you mentioning it at the Lighthouse some time ago and why your back is stuffed. I get my own back dramas from time to time and they just never seem the same.Wishing you a speedy recovery.I.B.

Posted 03/12/08 04:45 AM Share Posted 03/12/08 04:45 AM Good luck with your surgury sly...Hopefully this is a question you can answer off the top of your head. What actually counts as steet racing? For example, if two cars are sitting at a set of lights in an 80 zone, lights go green and both cars get to 80 very quickly (but not over) is that street racing, or would the cars need to go over the speed limit for it to count? What happens if only one car goes over the speed limit? And at what point do coppers change things from simple speeding to street racing? Can a copper pull me over for accelerating to fast, even if there is no other car next to me (or it's a nana's car which goes from 0 to 100 in 60 seconds) Not even speeding, just getting from 0 to 100 sub 6 sec like these cars are meant toJust curious

You can be pulled over for no reason, it's called a random breath test, accelerating quickly can be turned into a neg drive in certain circumstances.Sly. And I think this worked better than hiding in the bush as everyone was behaving well on the road. Except those idiots on the parts of the F3 with 3 lanes on the way back to Sydney, f*ck they sh*t me why are people scared of the left lane? But anyway would just like to congratulate the NSW police on the new approach, I was really happy to see it.
