I've sent an email to Tunehouse here in Sydney, inquiring about a CAPA edit.

OK, I know alot of you guys have it, is there currently just one type available or are there different CAPA edit types? Also I'm interested in the APS phase one kit but the HPF phase 1 just with CAPA flash tuner (is that the edit part as I still dont know actually what is an edit) and K&N flat panel filter with a tune can get 235rwkw (320kw at motor) but APS with UNICHIP plug in computer and injectors with tune have a figure of 300kw at motor, which is less than the HPF phase 1 kit has, and that's without the UNICHIP.

With that said, is the CAPA edit better than the UNICHIP plugin computer? Or if combined will they work a treat?

Also Im gona see WHPLSH some time soon to see/hear his exhaust, source the 2nd cold air intake or just go pod filter, have a custom I/C made to replace the standard XR6T one, remove that crossover pipe and make a custome stainless steel item, an idea on injectors and do something about the valve springs and retainers. With all that, which I think is equavalent to HPF phase 1.5 kit maybe slightly better, will the CAPA edit be enough to sustain all these mods or will the UNICHIP be needed to help. Im after 245-270rwkws. Also who can install the CAPA edit within the Sydney area, I dont want some backyard mechanic doin it.

Also someone that can tune it with the edit as well.

If all these mods get done and I get more kws than I stated... Yeehaaaa :smilielol:

Any ideas/feedback will ease my confusion on the matter and prob save me dollars too

Phew what a mouthful/eyeful :idunno:

Forget thinking in terms of fwkw's.

FWKW figures on some kits are marketed very generously. Concentrate on the rwkw's they produce.

You certainly are confused there mate...

Remember you still have a T5, and the further you mod the more likely you are to do permanent damage to your transmission... therefore requiring you to upgrade to a T56 as we've spoken about on here already or getting a new T5.

The first modification I did was get an edit done... with just this mod you shouldn't need a new clutch just yet depending on what condition it is in currently... my car made an easy 260+rwkw with just this mod alone...

You have done the right thing by speaking (emailing) a tuner with your enquiry, if you have the chance you should try and go and speak to that tuner face to face and if you have any questions you can ask them on the spot, and then they will be able to convey to you far easier what mods are needed and for what reasons... this is what I did when I first went to Nizpro earlier in the year with my standard car and they were able to answer all of my questions and answer some questions that I hadn't even thought of...

Good luck with it mate!

CAPA Edit = CAPA Flash Tuner

You don't use in conjunction with Unichip - you use one or the other, most people say Edit is better. Tunehouse is good, several forum members have had work done there. They are Nizpro agents and Nizpro are one of the leading XR6T tuners in Aus (as is HPF).

You shouldn't need to get a custom made intercooler, plenty of readymade aftermarket ones available. One of the poular cheaper ones is the "wogcooler" or Autotechnica Monza for around $500 or other more expensive ones such as PWR for just under $1000. Check the Market section of the forum a guy was selling a PWR one for about $500. Plenty of other brands around too.

Injectors - Bosch 968 are a popular one, good to make power up to about 340rwkw (depending who you talk to...) or the Nizpro injectors which I believe have better flow and support more power and are drilled out standard ones.

XR6T8_U havew u run your car yet remmember I saw u a couple months back at the bottle shot in bawlin

Nah mate, and yeah I remember you, nice car mate by the way too... probably won't run it, not that interested in taking the car to the drags, I know how quick it is (or isn't), and I reckon my money is better spent on more mods rather than spending it on repairing my car because I broke it drag racing it... that and it's not an auto, so I'll never get the time 'I should get' if that makes sense... so I'm kind of on a beating to nothing... so can't see the point.

same to u buddi just a quick question how much are nizpro charging u for the upgraded actuator (12psi) parts and labour?

Honestly... I have got no idea, I didn't ask... how bad is that. I'm getting a fuel pump, re-tune and a service done at the same time as the actuator...
