I dont know about boost above this level as we've only had a couple of cars running more and the customers had already upgraded the actuator.Eugene what happened if you pulled the wastegate actuator signal off? I'm not saying it couldn't happen I just havn't seen it yet. More than likely yes?For some reason & yes I'm guilty, people seem to relate the dropping off of boost in the higher revs related to the actuator but once you do the valve springs it's obvious that the springs have a bigger effect then the actuator. I advise others to do there valve springs but the actuator is a quicker & cheaper item it seems to get done first. The signal off will give 18lb+ of boost so a gauge is essential.Muzza. Not fun but can be done.Muzza. Posted 18/08/06 09:31 AM Share Posted 18/08/06 09:31 AM I had an upgraded actuator (12psi) fitted today with bigger fuel pump and I also have valve springs (fitted a couple of months ago) and the car now hits 14psi, was 15psi but for the sake of my factory engine we decided to drop it slightly and it stays at 14psi till redline, before it would hit 15psi and then drop off to around 11.5psi, sorry I don't have a dyno graph to post as the Nizpro computer was playing funny buggers today and wouldn't play...But I can give you my seat of the pants feel... and it's all good. Before my car would only wheelspin 2nd gear (in a straightline) when it's really cold or on cold tyres... now it starts wheelspinning in 2nd gear from about 70k's all the way to 120kph... 3rd gear is awesome. Haven't even attempted 4th as I'm going far too fast for public roads...I have done this mod (and the fuel pump) in an attempt to 'future proof' my car... meaning that it would probably need to be done anyway eventually so why not do it now when I have the chance before I go back to work next week...Jack Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/27613-upgraded-actuator/page/3/#findComment-423495 Share on other sites
