From memory it was 195rwkw with the Herrod performance exhaust fitted. I don't know what it was as standard, but Rob Herrod said the exhaust was good for around 14rwkw. I'm overseas at the moment and the dyno sheet is back home, so I can confirm it next week when I return (geez I miss the "T"!)

The limitation on power is supposedly the fuel system, and 229rwkw is safe and reliable with the stock fuel system. Suits me too as it feels really strong across the range and I have peace of mind as well. Using the performance exhaust has probably enabled lower boost to achieve good power levels, hence less stress and more efficiency. Arguably you could achieve the same power without the exhaust but would just need more boost to do so.

Hope this helps. Cost of APS Stage 1 was $1690 drive in drive out in Canberra. Ming Automotive did an excellent job for those in the area.

CDM.. not a company just yet,

I've been playing round with the ford 4.0lt sohc motors for 4 years and I've just started to develop new turbo manifolds and inlet plenums, rocker covers, intercoolers, sohc cylinder heads that flow 425hp now, cams for the sohc. all the twin cam stuff will come as the price of the twin cam head is still far to high for someone still "just playing in his backyard"

though with this new block/ head we wil be setting up a business and gearing up for production.

ultimate goal..... help make some of the fastest 6 cylinders in the world.

I hope to hit 8's with this block and head combo (turbo'd of coarse) in the front of a drag spec ea falcon soon enuf.

hell, I got the power from a sohc i6 to pull a 1400kg ea down the quter in a 9.5 sec pass atm, just the manual and circut spec suspension wikll not help quater mile times.. bugger!!

Turbomax, Nizpro's Ute which is running their 290rwkw Stage 2 package, runs the stock fuel pump and lines, but with higher flowing injectors. The engine is making over 450 horsepower at the flywheel and the factory fuel pump has been tested to happily deliver enough fuel for 500hp (373 kW), so anyone who suggests that an additional fuel pump or rising rate regulator is required for anything up to or slightly in excess of these figures is simply looking to sell something that isn't needed.

Also as a matter of interest, the same vehicle delivers factory 'cruise' fuel consumption figures of 8.2 litres per hundred.

What I'm interested in is an honest figure of Real World Horsepower figure achievable from our cars using bigger pump, injectors, better intake & of course some one's ECU to increase boost. This I am interested in knowing as I may go down this line, but I don't want the exhaust touched at all. I guess how much can be made through the stock system is my question. I'm sure I'm not the only who's been told 350kw can be made through it, but has anyone done it & not just in your head.

I spoke to FPV in Sydney in regard to modifications, basically I think my vehicle is a bit slow from a standing start....I.e. 'Turbo Lag' Thinking OK well these are guys from FPV are the ones who do the work when the XR6 comes up from the factory in Victoria. Rather than go through some backyard performance joint... Anyway suprisingly when I asked the question about what mods I could make without compromising the warranty there was quite a bit of 'umming and arrring' (and this is from FPV!!!?)

No one seems to want to stick their neck out... He did mention the Herrod exhaust system though for around $2500... but as someone else said whats the point of that without the chip, except for a meatier sound???? So my dilema continues, " :blink: To Chip or Not to Chip"
