I suspect you'll find that the quoted 650hp is not with the stock turbo.... results are very good and not surprising."The truth of the matter is that the Stage Three kit employs the stock turbo as it has proven itself more than capable of delivering 650 horsepower. There will, however, be a turbo change with the Stage Four kit.GB

Are the fitters or kit suppliers liable?I know that an engine has let go whilst having a kit fitted to it in Sydney. Ford refused the warranty claim on the basis that there was clear evidence that wires had been tampered with

Guest gm dstroya Guests Posted 27/10/03 01:11 AM Share Posted 27/10/03 01:11 AM hey all,we are working on a current 4.5 lt core engine and new twin cam designed head with 4 valves and is based on slightly outdated f1 technology.we are soon to cast up our first blocks for testing.the blocks will still use falcon cranks but will have 4 bolt mains, custom rods, pistons but will have siamese bores. rods will be extended to 6.2 inches.alternativley we also are playing with the above mention block but with the 221 style crank (ea 3.2lt) with some mega long rods.so we will end up with 4.0lt still but be able to rev to 9gthe heads will be 4 valve with twin cam running 4g63 style valve train.the 4.0 new cast option looks the best- 4.0lt 9g rev limit tuff as internals should be a 370fwkw option in n/a form. and I have a 1000hp turbonetics turbo that will go on to it at a later date.we've got 300kw from a sohc au engine in n/a formand 600fwkw turbo au engine just about sorted as well.I'll keep you posted.cheers.joe. Guest gm dstroya Guests Posted 27/10/03 04:31 AM Share Posted 27/10/03 04:31 AM CDM.. not a company just yet,I've been playing round with the ford 4.0lt sohc motors for 4 years and I've just started to develop new turbo manifolds and inlet plenums, rocker covers, intercoolers, sohc cylinder heads that flow 425hp now, cams for the sohc. all the twin cam stuff will come as the price of the twin cam head is still far to high for someone still "just playing in his backyard"though with this new block/ head we wil be setting up a business and gearing up for production.ultimate goal..... help make some of the fastest 6 cylinders in the world.I hope to hit 8's with this block and head combo (turbo'd of coarse) in the front of a drag spec ea falcon soon enuf.hell, I got the power from a sohc i6 to pull a 1400kg ea down the quter in a 9.5 sec pass atm, just the manual and circut spec suspension wikll not help quater mile times.. bugger!!oh well back to it.cheers.joe. Guest Turbomax Guests Posted 27/10/03 05:04 AM Share Posted 27/10/03 05:04 AM Anyone had the APS Phase 1 kit fitted yet?If so, what are your impressions. I.e. drivability, starting, performance, reliability.CheersHenry,I've had an APS Stage 1 kit fitted and I'm really impressed with the improvement. Drivability is as good as it was before the change, likewise with starting. Performance has improved nicely, with 229rwkw on tap. Reliability has been fine so far - it was on of the first kits available in Canberra. The installation is first class and is very discrete, so I'd say the kit has been designed that way. Fuel consumption is about the same, although I expected an improvement. This may be due to the set-up having a safety margin in the fuel curve and me using the extra grunt on tap. I have no doubt you'd be happy with this set-up. It's working in conjunction with a Herrod Exhaust and seems to be a good combination, as boost has been kept to a modest level of around 7lb. for less stress on the motor.Cheers
