Every Ford Service Department hsa been told by the Ford Motor Company to report any vehicle that has modified the intake or exhaust systems, or installed interceptor computers, or modified the vehicle in any manner that alters the turbo boost pressures. Then to inform the vehicles owner that their engine/drivetrain warranty is now void.

Got that straight from the horse's mouth when I got my vehicle serviced just this past week.

Hi Guys

The above applies to any Ford vehicle NOT just the turbo. If you add Nitros to a XR8 or a unichip/exhaust and the motor goes BANG. Ford will not cover.

Why does everyone think the warranty issue only applies to the turbo?.

A modification can be Nitros, Unichip, Exhaust, Supercharger....... etc. If any of these modifications damages Gearbox, Diff, Motor on any of Ford rang of vehicles they will not cover the vehicle.

Cheers

I dont think we do, maybe it's because it's an XR Turbo forum so that is what the point of discussion is.. :ta:

Hello again,

"Fordboy1981" above was saying that you can modify the XR8 with Unichip , exhaust etc. But this will also effect the warranty if the engine fails.

cheers

Anyways...ya modify...expect to loose your warranty. Just learn to accept it!

Exactly! If you play, be prepared to pay!

If you want to guarantee that your warranty will always be valid, dont modify your car. Simple as that.

Yep, modify it and loose it, or dont modify and keep it, you cant have everything. It makes me sick when people complain about loosing their warranty when its completely up to them whether they do so or not, its called personal responsiblity.

Now stop whingin, harden up, and get some mods..
