I & some others on this site have been to see Lachlan at Chiptorque regarding the piggy back. We're waiting to have a burn with him in his beasty & the Auto ute he's doing in tandom with his own.

On your own machine that's great news about your time, you must be chuffed to go as quick as a Clubsport with a stocker that cost 20K less than the equivelant HSV.

I will be getting the Chiptorque stage 1 for my Silhouette rocket fairly soon, hope to see you on our Brissy run on the 20th of July.

I also have the first opportunity to get the Unichip in Qld for the turbo, one of 10 available, the other 9 are bound for Vic. tuning shops, so I dont no who I'll go with. I'll wait and see.

go with Unichip mate ... they are looking good :)

The guy in Qld is meant to be a great tuner ... nothing to loose :huh:

Well the big day has come having car moded by chip torque tommorrow with there piggy back unit will keep you guys posted to what happens. It will be an evolution set up to test before release of mod in a couple of weeks.

I've been reviewing this site religiously for the last few weeks after making the decision on updating my current ride to the XR6T.

My current ride is an non SSS auto and, whilst the car is quick, the auto box magnifies the lagginess of the setup. IE. 100Km/h on the motorway next to the HSV. Nail the accelerator:

- Wait for the box to drop down a cog

- Wait for the boost to spool up

- Hang on and keep it on the black stuff (front wheel drive :( )

- Which all equates to an extra few seconds B4 U see the "what the..." look on the guys face as T4 goes sailing by...

The plan for the XR6T, is to upgrade power after running the car in for 5000k's or so. The final dilemma B4 signing on the dotted line is the gearbox. I'd love a manual, however, I'm concerned that the T5 will hand grenade itself on me after the mods. Can any of the members with power upgrades provide me with any feedback on their cars, re the manual gearbox?

auto vs manual ... there a number of threads around the place

I reckon the auto works extremely well with the turbo ... feels like a strong box but early days :(

the manual has got plenty of flack ... sure they are loosening up a bit and running smoother (or their drivers got a handle them)

If your goal is to go ballistic with mods ... then go the manual and when it grenades get a TKO box and stronger clutch ... keep the clutch the weakest link though (IMO)

haven't heard of too many probs with the trannies .... but the mods are just starting to flow ... <_<
