I know most of us here on the forum would love to see it :D

There are no secrets in this world anymore in the age of the internet.Anyway there are quite a few guys out there getting 550 rwhp with the 12 valve EA to AU head with big turbo. I'm quite sure 550 will be achieved with the stock GT40, even 600 (unless Ford turbine section strangles it as compressor is up to it). 500 rwhp from a turbo 6 on ultimate is nothing nowadays, its sooo easy. Its nothing to be in awe of. All that's needed are a high flowing fuel system, big turbo, intercooller exhaust, programmable fuel/ignition. Its 650 to 700 rwhp which is the awe benchmark

turbotrana Member 2,586 Member For: 21y 8m 26d Gender: Male Posted 24/06/03 02:41 PM Share Posted 24/06/03 02:41 PM I completely disagree with you unigroup. Dont underestimate the GT40 turbo. The GT40 Compressor in the Ford has a max flow of about 58lbs/min. I have a turbo Expensive Daewoo 6 with a TO4 V Trim that flows 52lb/min and has a dyno proven 481rwhp. I have done a EA Falcon six with a TS04 (60lbs/min) which did high 400s only on lowish boost. Considering the GT40 is way more efficient (advanced) than the TO4 and TS04, (it will flow more air at a lower temperature), I have no doubts the compressor will go 500rwhp. As I dont know whats on the turbine I cant comment but from memory it was a low A/R and it is this, if anything which would limit power. In any case at 500rwhp it is out of its best efficiency range but it will certainly do it. Just wait and see, Dynosteve is nearly already there. I've already been there a few times with 12 valve heads. A 24 valve head should make it even easier.Regards
turbotrana Member 2,586 Member For: 21y 8m 26d Gender: Male Posted 24/06/03 03:00 PM Share Posted 24/06/03 03:00 PM Just to prove a point I looked at the Garrett Performance product catalog and they rate the GT40 for engines 370hp to 650hp. The GT40 has two compressor options. It has a wheel with a 82mm exducer and .58 A/R (the one Ford uses) and a 88mm exducer with .72 A/R .(no inducer sizes given)However they (Garrett) use a 77mm turbine exducer and 1 to 1.34 A/R on their performance turbos as a match for the above compressor. I think Ford uses a much smaller turbine to keep lag at a minimum. So based on how Garrett have matched their wheels you will find it will be the turbine that is on the small size for this turbo. But hey it's all fun, to be totally honest I never built this car to make or sell upgrade kits I built it for myself to have fun in, my ultimate goal is to run a 10 second pass in the next couple of months but I might also find that I might be rebuilding a motor because I don't yet know what the weakest points are. Will keep you guys posted
