Guest OXR-747 Guests Posted 05/06/03 01:46 AM Share Posted 05/06/03 01:46 AM Charliewood, the difference in the NOS kits is just the jet size. The more horse power kit = bigger jet size (ie more nos)

Gareth Member 71 Member For: 22y 5d Posted 14/06/03 05:44 AM Share Posted 14/06/03 05:44 AM The herrod kit sounds great, but at what costs and gains. So far I know that there are circumstances surrounding the Powerchip. But that so far seems not that bad in terms of kilowatt/dollar. Any feedback from others? Had it fitted yesterday. All I can say is WOW. I have and will post on the Powerchip thread after I have driven it more.In short, I can't imagine anyone wanting more power than this for everyday (not on the race track) driving. Guest turbomatt Guests Posted 18/06/03 10:48 AM Share Posted 18/06/03 10:48 AM Everybody, this is how you fit a new air filter. Move the battery to the passenger side of the engine pay. Get rid of all that restrictive plastic crap from on top of your engine. Re-plum it with some fat shiney tubes. Put the air filter straight of the turbo into the the old battery area. You will see by the dyno how much of a improvement the re-plumed engine bay is  .To help things a bit more I had a full stainless 3" exhaust fitted with a high flow 3" cat ,a couple of turbo mufflers and a nice finishing touch of two 3" tips hanging out the back. The ute is now much more responsive and sounds tops with the growl of the exhaust and the way tops sound the sequential BOV.All this work was performed by the boys at IMPACT MOTORSPORT at Newcastle and I cant begin to say how pleased I am with the finished product, I will post a few photos of the neat under bonnet work they performed and in a week or 2 some pics of the exhaust. They are now selling the kit for $3300 (full exhaust and engine re-plum), give them a call on 4961 0067 and ask for josh, he knows how to trick the new falcon turbo up (even if he drives a crap old lancer). :D

I ran a 90mm pvc tube from front bumper into factory airbox so I not only got cold air but when moving the airbox is always charged with air for better throttle response. They do this will most performance bikes that's where I got the idea from. Other than that it looks like a good job with nice welds etc , plus some good gains in power
dynosteve Dyno Tuner Member 426 Member For: 21y 8m 7d Location: Redcliffe Posted 18/06/03 09:30 PM Share Posted 18/06/03 09:30 PM problem with the xr6t in all the testing that I've done is engine bay temps are very high and the vehicle runs a air temp sensor which will pull the motor back is air temps get too high, on my car I used the factory air intact but modified the box to flow better and added a race conicle filter inside to direct the air flow better. When I first fitted my piping it looked great but was prone to to higher temps so we then wrapped the piping in heatwrap which helped out the air temps and helped increase power. If I was you I would try and get some heatwrap to put around your piping as the piping looks like it would work well, and try and insulate the air filter to the bonnet in a sealed box that can have cold air directed towards it, and I'd say your on a winner. Please don't take this as being picky I would just like to see your car perform to it's best, good luck and have fun.
