According to them ford have instructed that they be absolutly tight on warranty issues. The guys reckon even changing the exhaust or anything, no matter how small will void the warranty!! This has shattered me, considering they didn't really mind honouring the warranty on my AU and I have done heaps to that.... :(

Guest DZ. Guests Posted 16/10/02 10:25 AM Share Posted 16/10/02 10:25 AM Changing any car with a turbo has the potential to dramatically increase power and torque when compared to an NA car. Even changing the exhaust could potentially result in a significant hike which could be enough for some of the drivetrain components. That's probably what they'd be concerned about. turbo_nick some guy... Member 277 Member For: 22y 1m 27d Posted 16/10/02 02:39 PM Share Posted 16/10/02 02:39 PM that sounds a bit ordinary...but I can definitely understand that considering the amount of power you can get out of these things! Guest DZ. Guests Posted 17/10/02 05:20 AM Share Posted 17/10/02 05:20 AM It could be worse - apparently if you do clutch dumps in a standard WRX at 5000 RPM you void the warranty with Subaru.
Guest edxr6 Guests Posted 29/10/02 10:59 PM Share Posted 29/10/02 10:59 PM If you dump the cluth at 5000 RPM in a standard WRX, you'll be lucky to have a gearbox left. High Octane 2 has a sequence of a rex getting it's clutch dumped and you can see the gear bits fall out underneath.

Thats a bit harsh.

Some time later (still in warranty) the fuel pump died. Ford wouldn't cover it and they claimed the owner had voided warranty on the car FRONT TO BACK by fitting a non factory accessory.
