Have a 6sp ZF auto transmission right across the range, in my opinion, makes the Ford a superior choice compared with the Expensive Daewoo VE - on paper anyway. Ford already has the better torquerer engine in my opinion as well. I've heard (but not yet experienced) that the VE engines still don't have enough low down torque compared with the Ford's 4L in-line.←Yes the IL6 has more torque, but this extra torque has always been overshadowed by the extra bulk of BA/BF over the VY/VZ. Plus the Ford's first gear is a lot taller then the VY/VZ/VE, hence still making it a dog off the line! Driving a VZ and BA back-to-back, the VZ feels a lot better of the mark but lacks a bit when on the move. The new V6 still feels a bit harsh and breathless above 4000rpm, but that said my IL6 does not like 4500rpm+ either and stay below 4000rpm 90% of the time. But between the two the Ford 6 is still a lot better in terms of the torque available between 1500-3500rpm and day-to-day driving.My 2c Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Looks almost unfinished without the spoiler. That GHIA looks mint, especially the interior. If I ever HAD to "downgrade" I would defo go the new fairmont. Rumour I have heard is that its gonna be an T/C (Typhoon) 6 cyl and S/C 8cyl luxury sedan (LWB or SWB unsure) that will be a smack in the face to the HSV luxury range.
