Been a long time since I've seen a private team win with a factory supplied motor...

depends on if you count the mclarens. I believe they are still majority privately owned, however mercedes owns a very large stake.

mercedes owns 40%

Ron Dennis and Mansour Ojjeh own the other 60% :stirthepot:

Last private win was 2003 Brazil GP Jordan/Cosworth won.

unless you know something we all dont, williams is a privately owned team. that makes the last win (as already stated) juan pablo montoya in a williams in brazil 2004.

True but higly funded and backed by BMW at that time the last true private win, car and engine combined was Brazil 2003. Now will you please stop trying to

Discredit me. I dont know what your problem is you clearly no nothing. I obviously know what iam talking about and well you seem a little vague to say the least. Oh and by the way when spelling the name of someone you use a capital letter.

If you're going to pick someone up for poor grammer, make sure your own house is in order first! :pinch:

Also, EVERY one is entitled to their opinion, merely because it isn't yours doesn't make an opinion any less valid. So either stop acting like Jensen Button, or :spoton: off.

no, just true. have another look at ducatijb's question -

"Been a long time since I've seen a private team win with a factory supplied motor...". -

Wiliams is a private team. BMW was a factory supplied motor. BMW at no point have ever owned any part of Williams.

Now will you please stop trying to Discredit me.

Other than the fact that I dont need to discredit you, I thought we were just having a discussion... in a forum... that's what a forums for.

I dont know what your problem is you clearly no nothing.

My only "problem" is that I dont agree with you. And as far a knowing nothing, at least I knew when the last private win was.

I obviously know what iam talking about.

See my above answer.

you seem a little vague to say the least.

Right. when you posted your original argument (the one starting with you being angry), I replied with my argument to each of your point of views. I didnt say you were wrong, I tried to be as accurate as I could, I just told you my differences of opinion.

then your reply to my reply was....(highly researched and surely based on your infinate knowledge of F1) -

"your an idiot".

wow. and im being vague with F1 facts. you couldnt come up with any to argue my point of view.

Oh and by the way when spelling the name of someone you use a capital letter.

no worries typhoon, I will never refer to mark webber without a capital again... oh bugger.

And apparently there's one tyre supplier for next year which has to be 'different' from what they are using now so the current Bridgestone teams don't have an advantage next year over the Michelin shod ones...

That means some difference in all the data - unless of course you are Ferrari and you simply test as much as you like at Fiorana, Mugello and Monza to benchmark all of your data.

The new rear wing idea doesn't appear to have happened yet but Renault are sweating over the mass damper front suspension addition. Will they or won't they have it on Alonso's car?

That means that next year... there will hopefully be a few teams that will get closer to the Tier 1 teams. Until, the rich teams figure out ways to spend their money to get ahead again...

renault are appealing that mass damper system and are quite confident of having it re-instated based on the fact the FIA (Ferrari Intimate Ascociates) banned the system due to it being "a moveable aerodynimic device" (how a damper can be considered aerodynamic is anyones guess) - and that race stewards have approved the system and said they have no problem with it.

Adrian Newley has designed the new car for Red Bull next year...hope his talents work as well there as they did at MacLaren :spoton:

I think Kimi will get the drive at Renault :pinch:

Kimi will go to ferrari.

Kovalainen will take over from Alonso.

webber will do well at red bull. He was only ever going to get a seat at renault if both raikkonen and kovalainen said no to the seat. And we all knew that wasnt going to happen

part 2 of prediction confirmed

kovalainen confirmed as race driver for renault :spoton:

expecting raikkonen to announce at monza that he will drive for ferrari... should know by this weekend :nono: just dont know if he will drive with schumacher or massa.... if schumacher continues... massa will become test driver

The mass damper is attached to operates on the front wing to keep the clearance of the wing constant to the road surface independent of the travel of the wheels. Because of the limited wheel travel and hard suspensions, the unsprung weight tends to bounce around and this changes the angle of attack and the airflow beneath the front wing.

The damper was a moveable aerodynamic device as it altered the wing position relative to the chassis to keep it at a constant clearance and angle of attack to the airflow - hence it was deemed a moveable aero device.

Moveable aids have been an area that has been exploited by teams in the past with the "flexible" fixed wings, at low speeds the angle of attack was for maximum downforce but at the high speeds the windflow would be sufficient to move the wing flap down to reduce drag as downforce is less critical - and previous to this there was the 'vacuum cleaner' Brabham F1 Car which had a radiator fan than sucked air out from underneath the car... and then spat it out the back at following drivers...
