Shazza the answer is No they are not. Foggies are waheever coour yellow or white depending on national or stae legislation. Foggies are about the beam dispersion characteristics not the colour - ie a narrow horizontal band of light with very limited range as opposed to a narrow longer range beam of light as per driving light. The lenses/reflectors provide the difference and not the colour.

Sorry looks like it's in the traffic regulations which I don't have on me atm, I'll look it up tommorow during the day and bury this issue once an for all.

From memory with daytime running lights the beam is pointed to the side of the vehicle as the blinker is flashing not to the front.

Day time running lights must operate below 7 watts, parking lights must operate below 25 watts, to comply with the ADR.

If this is the law, I must say it is pretty poorly enforced, as most cars now come out with these driving lights and alot of people use them all the time at night!

I use them at night and always will. I've been at plenty of rbt's and never asked to turn them off. I think its ridiculous that these cars come out with these lights as standard and the only time we allowed to use them is in extreme weather conditions.

As far as I'm concerned anything that makes my car more visible to other drivers especially at night I'll use.

I got pulled over once for driving with 'em on. We had a civil conversation, he checked the wattage of the globes and let me on my way with an informal warning.

Now I only use 'em down side streets as the street lighting is so crap.
