I only use my 'Driving Lights' in the daytime, and this only to improve my visibility to other road users.

Why not use the headlights?

The headlights are much brighter, and higher than your foglights so will be seen first. Especially when comming over a crest.

I don't get why people try justify the use of foglights by saying they improve their visibility to others when the main lights do a much better job, and aren't illegal.

Its because they think they look cool :gooff: cant stand them on for no reason :pinch:

For those that want a more useful light output from the foggies try replacing them with the Hella Driving light reflectors - they are darn good, in fact I have placed a separate pair of driving lights on top of the bar in additiona to the foggies. The only down side is having to wire them in with the main beam to meet various State regs.

Is that legal? I guess as long as they're not used within 200m of other vehicles, like high beams?

I see alot of talk about fog lights still I pretty sure they are called driving lights in the ford book, and they do not blind other drivers like people have said, if they are set up correctly they do not hurt at all, if anything it helps especailly during day time on high ways making your car stick out more, I drive on highway all the time and I know it helps. I admit getting a new car with bright headlights and driving/fog lights pointed in your face isn't fun... but all they need to do is adjust the driving lights

Sure is, just have them wired to your high beams.

You're allowed to have up to 6 lights on your high beam circuit.

As I mentioned above, as long as they are aimed correctly (and there is a fair bit of modifying to do so) they will light up the sides of the road up to 100 metres away.

Hmmm, so does that mean 6 lights in addition to OEM? Or if it includes OEM then is that considered to be 4 already, since you have high/low beam in one light then an additional high beam next to the grille?

Getting technical, I know, but I'm just curious.

6 lights including OEM.

So that covers your H4 Low/high, H7 high, H3 fog.

What I am running isn't really allowed....
