I Tryed ringing a few wreakers and all I got was "we dont cut the looms, go away"...and the ford dealership need a part number, they apparently cant look up C396. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I now have my kit and am ready to go :)WiLL86

You already have the wireing from the dash to the back side of C396 so if you cant get one from the wrecker or a female socket from an autoelec - just solder the wires to the back side of the plug(the wire colours are the same). The plug assy just unclips from the plastic tub in the kick panel.I have PM'd you.CheersTom

WiLL86 Member 14 Member For: 17y 5m 11d Posted 23/12/07 10:23 AM Share Posted 23/12/07 10:23 AM Ok im just having a crack at installing the kit now and I have a few questions.1. The Relay block that is provided with the Lidlok kit, where abouts do you recommend mounting that? In under the steering column somewhere?2. The canon plug that is wired into the relay pack, I think its referred to as the 'Decklid Switch", where abouts does that hook into? The instructions make it seem as if it connects into the boot release switch, but those as the canon plugs that are apart of the existing loom arnt they? NOTE: I didnt have to remove the speedo etc to get to this plug, you have to stick your head into the footwell and look up3. When connecting the 2 core wire to the C396 connecter, where abouts to I hook the black cable upto? I understand that the red wire has to be connected to the Vilot 84 wire which I have to disconnect from the C396 connecter, but the black wire has me stumped?Sorry to hassle everyone about this, any help would be very much appreciatedWiLL86
WiLL86 Member 14 Member For: 17y 5m 11d Posted 25/12/07 06:19 AM Share Posted 25/12/07 06:19 AM Ok for those who are interested I spoke to Tom and finally got my central locking in and all sorted!!The solenoid block that lidlok supply was placed on the backside of the fuse panel using a few pieces of double sided tape...(theres a nice clear little spot where they fit perfectly)The canon plug with the red/black wires running into the relay pack connects with the blue power connecter behind that same fuse/relay panel in the drivers footwell. There is only one and I already have the Ford Mobile Phone Bluetooth kit installed which also uses this plug, so I had to pull out the red and black wire spade lugs from the connecter on the BT kit/open them up, solder the wires together and crimp the lugs again and place them back into the connecter. And finally the black cable that is to connect into the C396 connecter, connects to the Yellow wire with a black stripe down it....this along with the violet are a heavy gauge of wire (looks to be about 2.5mm2 or the same size you use for powerpoints in your home etc)Id like to thank Tom for all your help mate, especially for taking my late night panic calls trying to figure out a few niggling installation issues I had...Thank You!!!WiLL86
