Thanks guys!

I am amazed at how different it looks in varied light conditions. In full sunlight it was superb while in shade it was a very subdued dark grey. In the garage it looks black.

The drive home from the dealership was one long carpark (avge speed over 42km's was 11km per hour), how I wished for some open road!

It was reading 52litres per 100km when I picked it up but it is down to 22lt per 100km now. Hopefully a run early tomorrow along the M2 will bring that down to something reasonable.

EGO is the colour for the XR!!

but after looking at the EGO on a Ute and sedan - I think the Ute was just made for it!!!

Some wider full photos of your car would like to see. I know your trying to cover your plates up, just touch over it in MIcrosoft paint or something and let is see the full beast.

Will do some as soon as it stops raining!

I was really trying to give a better idea of what the "flecks" of metallic colour look like rather than hide the plates.

162km's on the clock now at avge of 26km/hr and fuel consumption down to 18.2l/100km

Not really had a chance to see if it really is a "beast" yet......

Welcome mate! I am sure u will enjoy it mate!

u will get use to the Power of it!! I came out from an Astina SP20 2.0

To an Xr6Turbo mate I was a bit worried to put my foot down! but now days!

All most every gear change is all most pass 4000RPM

Enjoy it mate!  :spoton:  Take it easy up to 1500KM but don't be scared open her up a bit here and there.  At 3000KM service change your oil after that mate just drive it hard!   :spoton:

Dal.

Welcome....

I got a little too happy sideways the other night on a quiet inner city road. I'm no stunt driver but hell was I jaded afterwards but managed fine. Learning to control the T takes time but if your a revhead then I'd imagine everyone will have their moment advising how long it took to handle their T.

The power in the T still amazes me! Especially when you don't often step into its the peak performance as often as you'd like (well I dont anyway). A little squirt here and there aint unusual. When ya hear the *shhhhhh* of the turbo winding up, you'll soon know how and when to use it!

You do get very used to the T though and quickly, it's a relatively easy car to step new into and drive. I had my 15000KM service not too long ago and prior to that, from 5000km, I was punching the air opening it up often here and there. It's tuff but you don't need to treat it like a baby...

Just make sure any warranty issues are noted and looked at but other than that enjoy the ride

Finally some more photos!

Also, I took it for a spin to Melbourne and back yesterday so it has now reached 2700 kms on the clock (nearly first check and oil change).

It drove like a dream and the fuel economy was way better than expected. I averaged 11.9l/100km and most of the cruising was at around 9l/100km.

Cruise control at about 5kph over the limit all the way down but as it was all night driving (got back at 5.30am this morning) on the return trip, I managed to get a couple of bursts of 180 while overtaking trucks.

It was so smooth and rock solid, just wish I could really open it up but the Hume Highway isn't really the place for it.

I love my car!
