Hi all

So what diff oil offers the best protection for our T's, especially the modded ones out there.

Also is there any tricks to changing the oil that should be known?

How often should the diff oil be changed on a modified T?

Cheers

I use castrol safxa and I change it every 20,000. Its still fairly clean though but I dont really give the T a hard time

SAF-XA as above. The back of the pack specifically mentions the XR6T and Ford V8s, and it's the stuff they use in the V8 supercars.

My general rule of thumb is take the manufacturer recommendation, then do it twice as often (half intervals).

cheers for the response,

I have done a little bit more research and found that using the SAF-XA would require 100ml Sturaco additive.

Also have found that Shell LS90 has been recommended. I found this info in this thread http://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/index.ph...topic=10696&hl=

Shell themselves recommend a synthetic diff oil with an additive, what I would like to know is what would be best if I was to use the car for track days, would the mineral LS90 provide enough protection with heat generated or better to go synthetic with additives?

This is for a mk 1 sedan with IRS diff

I use Castrol SAF-XA 80W - 140 . It is a : Full Synthetic Limited Slip rear Axle Oil.

Upgraded formulation - no additional additives required.

Some Oils need 40ml of Friction modifier added, but not this stuff.

Paid 20 Dollars per litre @ the Castrol depot .
