SORRY.....I know this topic has been done to death a few times.

I have surfed the site and checked the threads but am still none the wiser on what would be the best regap for my plugs. At the moment I have 14psi and have regapped the plugs to 89. I have two questions.

1... What is the symptom of to bigger gap

2... What would be the best gap for 14psi

Thanks

I hope you mean .89 of a mil.

This would be the right gap.

If the gap is to wide the motor will miss under load and boost.

The other think that can cause this is valve springs but that also will cause the motor to still be running rough after you have come of boost.

Thanks Ian, yeah .89 of a mil... LOL. I have had the springs done.Just that the last time I took it down the 1/4 on one run it was missing all the way down the run,not all the time just intermittenly and I thought the plug gap could be an issue.

The plugs can be an issue :tease:

How old are yours (how many k's)?

I would look for 0.7-0.8 mm gap as the boost goes up, and if it still misses, then you probably need to look at new plugs.

I am now thinking it might be boost cut as when the car is cool they will run better boost as the incooler gets hotter the boost will be hence the problem got better.
