I could feel something like a circular shape with bolts on each side about a size 13 - 15 and line coming off each end the thing is , the line feels stiff not flexy is that normal ?

don't got any jack stands etc, I read the thread on not using the stock jack but I always do for oil changes im going to scab a decent pair of stands etc

Having trouble undoing the pipes on the fuel filter is quite common. Good quality pipe spanners will help.

yeah, that sounds like the filter mate, the lines are solid cos they carry fuel and you don't want those rubbing thin!

There is a trick to undoing the filter. One is a 19mm and the other a 14mm I think. What you do is position the 19mm which is on the filter against the body in the undoing direction. So as you turn the 14mm the 19mm presses against the body. if you still cant budge it hit the 14mm openender with a hammer or use a tube on the spanner to get more leverage.I changed one on a BA and it was so tight and the one on my EF was easy to remove. If I had just held both spanners in my hand I would not have been able to remove the filter on the BA . Arron

Ok well I'm due for my 40K service now, so I'll find out if this is something they change on this service or not. If they do I'll get them to change it, and see if they will use my new filter and just take that off their price of the service? dunno we'll see!

I think the fact that my jack only lifts the car up so much, and it only gives me a little bit of room to work with under the car doesnt help. its very hard to put a lot of force into it when the car is only like 1 inche above your chest.

Best xmas present ever!!! Min Height 63mm. Max Height 500mm.

I got it through Rapeco. Its an Omega jack. Something that they usually dont stock on the floor, have to ask to see there book for em then order it.

The Jack was $352 but that was on the cheaper side as I have a friend who works there.
