G'day guys,

picked up my new flash box today with preloaded tunes

1. valet tune

2. 95oct ~8psi tune

3. 98oct ~10psi tune

Started driving on tune 3 and got to some open road and gave her a bit and it felt like I hit a brick wall at 4000rpm (first time hitting a ford redline)...tried again = same result. In neutral 4000rpm cut out.

Needless to say I loaded all the other maps and the same thing happened at 4000rpm...weird. Haven't yet loaded the factory tune back in to check that though.

I have spoken the workshop that sold me the box and it will be sorted out first thing, but I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this??

Tunes 2 and 3 were different below the 4000rpm limit so I suggest something has been loaded....

Cheers Ben

p.s. got my turbs 3 weeks ago and loving it!! I'll get a custom tune shortly...I know I know!! :spoton:

depends if its boost cut causeing it, now as I dont have a boost guage in my car I cant tell you if the car is making enough boost in neatural to cause it to do so, my previous car could make 10psi in neatural so before all you doubters out there take apart my statement, think again. So without knowing how much boost you can make in neatrual I cant really say. Where did you get your flash tuner from?

thanks, sounds like that may be happening.

Horsepower factory supplied the unit. I contacted them and they were very sorry and said it would be fixed first thing in morning when I drop it back. So I am not angry or anything, just curious as to why this would happen.

look could be a myriad of things, might be something I suggested might not be, might just be a faulty box, I really dont know at the end of the day but yeh my next point of advice would be to contact the seller of the box which you have already done by the looks of it.

to be honest dude I did the typhoon CAI, I dont think it did sh*t, car drinks more fuel according to the DTE and car doesnt feel as strong in the top end as it once did, perhaps im just getting used to it, and since installing it my right foot went to the floor more often. Hope you get some good results outta it, but wont be nothing like wat the edit does for the car

would that cause it to still cut out at 4000rpm when I was reving while in neutral?

thanks

If your car is a auto they will not rev past between 3 and 4 grand in neutral this is a design feature to stop people revving the motor up and dropping the auto into gear.

If it is a manuel than I am not sure.
