Guys , thought I would fit my own valve springs. Does the head need to come out because it's as tight as a nuns you know what , bloody harder job than I thought.

its a great thread actually, good job by the boys.

Im about to undertake the same operation myself, its great to hear actual details instead of whinging about how much of a b**ch of a job it is (even though it is!)

I know how it feels losing a collet, it sucks bad. I dropped one down an oil gallery straight into the sump, on spring number 24, back corner. Yes I was fkn angry. Luckily I got a magnet tool right down into there and fluked my arse off getting it out! Any one else attemptting doing the valve springs, do yourself a favour and stick plenty of rags into every oil gallery on the head.

For my birthday today my wife gave me 1 valve spring, granted it is a good spring it's gonna take a while at this rate to modify the T.
