I dunno.. it sounds like a lot of farting around for $600. That money can get you a decent DVD player with a couple of inputs and 3 outputs, that plays MP3s and VCDs, all controllable conventionally like a standard head unit. I can't see the advantage of getting a PC installed in your car with a complicated way of controlling it. I'm not putting your development down at all, just wondering what the main adantage is of having this system over a head unit which can do the same stuff but easier?

aftermarket gps, OBDII display, ie fuel, timing, rpm all in gauge format ala Nissan GTR.

Stand alone head unit will not do the add ons a carputer will.

Me, I just mount my PDA in the car. It has a good screen, plays everything from MP3 to VCD, Xvid and DVD, GPS and is usable in other cars. No wank value, that's all..

I think it's a good idea.

I'd be keen for the OBDII interface, that would be worth 600 alone just to have live engine data up on the screen.
Not only can you see the live engine data, with the correct sortware you can also change the live engine data - aka Flash Tuner. It's commonplace in the stated, but getting one for the Australian Fords is a bit harder.

I've also just added a new feature.

How does an extra LCD screen where the guage pod normally sits?

This screen will be used to boost guage and live engine stats if all goes right. Plus I think it would look cool.

My power supply and Graphics cards will be with me in 2 week so ill be able to have so in car pics by then

crans,

I am also interested in this gear for my car.

I have to ask, how you plan to get the PIDs for the IDB2 enhanced features that the BA/BF can produce.

I have been trying to find a scantool that will produce all the outputs from the T. Everyone can do generic, but we will need the enhanced PIDs to display the turbo and specific error codes.

I also like the idea of the second dashtop gauge set, having some details on the main ICC and the most important on the dashtop would be a great solution.
