Hi All,

Thought I'd mention this in case it helps someone out. The piece of sh*t rubber joiner that Ford use on the throttle body can sometimes fail, and is a definate problem for anyone that has aftermarket plumbing. The problem is the throttle body outside diameter is 80mm, while common silicon hose comes in 3 inch or 75mm diameter. The cheaper stuff can be made to stretch over the 80mm diameter but because the lip on the throttle body is so short it often can pop off.

Ask Rob (aka Mr Turbo) !!! I've searched around for some 80mm stuff, but just about gave up, til I wondered into Eastern Turbochargers in Bayswater, Melbourne. The extremely helpful chap, looked it up, and said it was available, and then ordered it in for me.

It's the proper 3 ply silicon/fibre reinforced stuff (ie it doesn't stretch) and is a perfect fit. Cost was about $27 for 2.5 inches of the stuff. It's blue on the outside, with the orange heat proof liner on the inside.

So if you suffer from the same problem, give them a call

Cheers

Robin.
