G'day mate,

I can tell you straight away the quality of miss_aly's PODS are awsome. I have seen a number of installations now, and they are beautiful.

This may be a silly question guys....but do the electronic Autometer Guages work off the factory ford sender units or do you need to use the autometer sender units??

Boost you t-piece it off the bov

oil, you use the supplied oil sender presure sensor thingy.. And you need a t piece, VDO 230.032 (it hink.. 1/4npt with 1/8 npt for oil presure). allows you to run both sensors..

270 degree sweep on oil would be good... I was also thinkin about geting pyro temp.. or airfuel.. but a/f is pointless as its not wideband

Danny

Does anyone know if these gauges have the same connectors as the standard Typhoon units? I would love to swap them over for these...

that looks awesome!!!  :spoton:

How the f*ck did you get the rings off the autometer gauges?? I tried but ended up gutting the pod so I could push the gauge further in and mount the fpv one on top.

But I like yours so ill try it again.

Also I found the illumination was too bright after my install, so I mounted a simple dimmer under the tissue box out of sight. Now it matches the dash PERFECTLY. Like ford put them there.

Im also about to start work on a subtle single A pillar pod using the same fpv cup and ring as well. ill post up with the results.

from the back side of the guage, using a flat blade screwdriver lifted the lip all the way around so its no longer "crimped".. The original ring will then come off (with a bit of effort depending on how good you lifted the lip..)

I then got the glass, and glued them to the fpv rings..

Because of the position of the guage in the pods, the FPV rings clip nicely on in place.

I'm running the illumination to the dim line from behind the "spotlight" switch.. that way it will dim with the dash dim.

Ohh, the Pillar using fpv pod will look great !!

Danny.

Mate I never would have tried this without seeing it been done. Now just need them installed.

Doesnt it just look horn?

I see you glued your rings onto your pods.. can see a bit of white oxidation on the plastic..

And you gotta clean up the glue on the glass where it bleed through the gaps..

I got a bit of bleeding on mine, but I cleaned it up with a blunt metal object (a bottle opener infact.. lol
