Hi guys

I have used the search engine (which needs fixing as it is very hard to use, brings up toooooooo many options)

My question is, I dont have much cash to mod my car but im still chasing better turbo pull.

I will be getting other performance mods done as cash becomes avail, but I was wondering if I fitted a boost controller and set the boost to 10-12 psi would this work??? and would it be a easy performance mod (being on a tight ass budget)

Any feedback would be great

ps: I will be buying the capa flasher soon

Cheers

The ECU is too smart in the T's as they willl shut down any "overboost" condition. Unless you edit the ECU, you would be lucky to ket 1psi of extra boost before the car wient into limp mode.

The Edit is the best first mod

Currently I have the wastegate vac hose half clamped off and it seems to go bloody hard but as you said onece and a while it hits fail safe mode and shuts down

But f&$k its great when it does work

The latest ECU update from Ford allowed some extra boost leeway to prevent stock cars from limping from overboost. This would be why you get some extra gains with a bleed valve.

But using a bleed valve is not a very good solution even if it is just a temp one. Save up for the Edit, even with the generic tune and I guarantee your smile will be much wider as it releases the real potential of these motors.

Mate your asking for trouble, do your self a favor go to autobarn or somewhere & get a manual boost controler for $70 & a boost gauge so you can add 2-3lb before your adding a bottom end. Don't clamp the hose as it will lean out & go BANG.

Do not waste your money on a boost controller it has been tried and you may think it is working but the ford computor will go to limp mode and all sothe in biult torque tags will also activate.

Mate don't do it.

Thanks guys

As you can tell im not a dumb ass,I just dont have much $$

I want the world but can only afford bread ha ha ha

With the capa flash will I notice a good difference

As 1000 clams is alot of money if I dont notice much.

The clamp on the waste gate I notice a massive difference

(but as you said a bottom end will be more)

Thanks in advance for all your usefull help

Cheers

ok I drove an edited car the other day, save more and get a custom tune from a reputable dealer. now this car was getting way better economy than mine and would hose if of the line. But beware once you start getting more power, it never ends, you want more. So think about that before you spend money at all

I realise a custom tune is the way to go

BUT

I need some feed back about the base CAPA flash, will it still put a smile on my dial or is it bland

I had a edit done on my first VZ SS (LS1 Engine) spent $900 and drove off feeling realy pissed

I dont want to spend another chunk of money and drive off with a extra 5RWKS

So to summerise

Has anyone had the basic CAPA flash and had a dyno run (even though RWKS) is not everything

Just some feedback on the pull from the engine, peddal response, tyres smoking from 1st gear roll start, and fuel economy so on and on.
