Do I win a prize for finding the car that the vents started life on..?

am I right..?

Ha.... yes, I knew it wouldn't take long !!! Well done. Thing is though it isn't a matter of just cutting a hole and inserting the vent. I had to do quite a few changes to them, as the guard shape is rounder. Also you need to make locking inserts and add rear backing collectors to suit. Anyway let the copy cat's begin .... like they say immitation is the finest form of flattery !!!

Cheers

Robin.

Hmmm...sorry, its overdone.

Remove bonnet protector, front mesh vents in bumper, side vents behind wheels (Falcon SS?!) and side turbo badges. Then Id give it a B+, possibly A-

I suspose it's each to their own. If I did what you said it would be a standard car again !!! I'm trying to make a statement, and I think I have done so. So far only two people have strongly disliked the mods ... about 200 people love them. Now if I was running for Prime Minister I'd be a shoein.

Cheers

Robin.

I wouldnt say it looks overdone, but there is alot going on for the eye to take in... but then again its pretty much the norm for highly modded cars these days.

I prefer a simple looking car, but this is a totally unique T and should be respected... its an awsome car.

Great stuff Robin!

Your car is awesome, and I don't think and photos can do it justice. The car looks great in the photos, but even better in the flesh for those that have not seen it. The workmanship is also first class…

This car is the full package with the grunt, handling, brakes and looks to suit. :spoton:

I particularly like the front intake vents and the back of the car looks super tough with the cobra and quad pipes…

You are also a man after my own heart – must be functional!

Does not seem to matter what I do, I always seem to be getting further behind. Damn it lol!

Cheers,

Well I'm all for body mods if they are functional, and as I've stated before in the bvwe2 thread, those side air vents are one of the most innovative mods I've seen yet on any XR6T.

well done robin.

There is a real need to get the heat out of the engine bay, and your mod looks like it works well.

I thought about a hood scoop at one stage, but then considered the potential for increasing under bonnet air pressure, which could reduce air flow through IC/radiator.

By providing a better escape path, as you do with the side vents, you effectively improve air flow through the entire engine bay. Have you monitored engine bay temps at all... with vents opened/blocked to quantify the advantage?

cheers

love your work

Very nice work mate, you seem to have thought it all out very well.

Why do you have a vent in the bumper on each side? is air intake from both sidesor only one?

Cobra - well... I kind of think a Cobra should look like a Shelby Cobra. Never agreed with Mustang Cobras, or Falcon Cobras. You have an individual car - needs its own name.

The side vents are definately very functional on my Cobra, I could imagine just as functional on a turbo car, probably more. I would prefer yours more in the Cobra style (vertical angled louvres), and black.

maybe your side badges need to look more like:

Love it Robin... and as a couple of others have said, it is easily the best BA in the country...

Nuff said.
