Well, a couple of the local guys in sunny Melbourne have asked me why I have not posted any pics of my car since the body rework. It was a nice day down here today, so I finally was able to give it a half decent wash and take some.

I figured Ford Oz should have released a Ford Cobra (an Aussie one, not a yank tank) by now, to re-kindle the memories of the XA/XB hardtop. I couldn't wait any longer so I decided to make my own, and what better car to use as the basis as the new Aussie muscle car the XR6T/Typhoon.

Motivation is a Nizpro Cobra Stage III engine with an uprated turbo, and makes a max of 440 rwkW @ 6100 rpm. And before you ask, yes it has been dyno verified on several dynos including Nizpro and HPF, and no I haven't run it down the quarter. This is the latest incarnation of a ongoing obsession !!!

Cheers

Robin.

Nice job Robin!

As you know I don't like some of the styling options you have but as a total package your car is the best BA/BF on the street bar none in my opinion. :spoton:

What gauges are they Robin?

I don't think I've seen any like that before.

The vents in the front guards are custom. They are functional and vent the engine bay. I modified the original Ford guards to suit (moved the blinker, etc), and then custom modified the PVC vents to suit the shape of the guard.

The front bar has vents fitted which feed directly to the Nizpro airbox, ie cold air intakes. They have a plastic mesh screen fitted internally to stop debris getting in.

Hi Adam, yes they are Timex, which I imported from the UK and customised to suit. I wanted gauges with exactly the same colour scheme as factory (ie blue backlight with red backlit pointers) and these were the only gauges that I found. They can be made to illuminate in about 7 different colours, but I modified them to default to the blue colour. They were a bugger to get into the OEM cups as they were alot longer, so I chopped them up and remote mounted the gauges electronics.

Cheers

Robin.

Cool.

You need a close up pic of the custom throttle body adaptor that you made, it's really neat!
