If you can't afford to run 98 octane you shouldn't be driving an xr6t let alone thinking of modding it.

I can afford it that is why I am going to start running it.

Mate what mods are you thinking of, out of curiousity. I am wondering what is cost effective for a NA.

I guess if it was me, I would just install a NOS kit. and runthat when you need a squirt of power. Guess who has been hanging around a ricer a work.

Sounds great, any idea on what power you can expect?

Scotty

PS being an NA, have you considered NOS?

About 220 flywheel kw's. No don't want to do NOS.

Sounds good, steve will look after you, mate when the car is modded then it would be worth running 98, until then 95 is all you need. Good luck with it all mate, looking foward to catching up on a cruise.

for christ sake go and get a feed into ya skinny little greyhound.....

Feeding isn't the problem... it's being active enough to burn it off. When you build a car to a minimum weight for an endurance race there's nothing worse than having the car being an extra 20 odd kilos too heavy because someone ate all the pies. Some goes for the karts we used to run, rather bolt 15kg of lead to the chassis to make a weight limit than have the driver carrying it.

As for weight reduction, taking out all the unnecessary weight in a car makes a tangible difference and it benefits handling and braking. There's also a tangible difference in your weekly fuel bill from walking to the shops or not using the a/c... although I'm still doing my sums on whether it's cheaper to taking the toll on the M2 rather than sitting in traffic... still it's a few hours extra a week of free time instead of sitting on my ass looking at the rear bar of the car in front.
