Hi guys,

I am wanting to get a little bit more go out of my car and while I am saving up to do my mods I thought that the easiest option to get a little bit more go out of her would be to put some 98 ron fuel in her instead of the standard 91 ron that I was putting in her. My question though is how many tanks will it take before I notice any power difference as I have heard you won't notice any difference on the first tank?

Thanks

The averages will re-compensate in the ECU over about 1000km

You probably wont get more noticible power, but you will be running more efficiently.

Mate it is a better fuel, but it is more expensive and give bugger all improvement in power or economy around town, I only ever notuiced that premium worked for me on the open road. That was in an EL XR6 and EL XR8. At 10c a litre more save your money and you will get upgrades earlier. Unfortunatretly there is no real quick fix for added power.

The guysd with the knowledge will be able to tell you bang for buck on a NA, but I doubt 98 is the answer

Its not scientific but I noticed when I got my car (NOT NEW) first couple of tanks woohoo 10.6l/100 mixed city country. Switched to Shell 95 and wham bam 11.2 first week. Improved after that to 10.8 average but never down where the 98 was.

I'm switching back to 98 for a few weeks so I can get a better assessment of the difference, I'd be surprised if it was that marked.

My cars 100% stock. Note I havent run the car on 91 at all to assess that difference.
