(prices if possible to)cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/26977-roadrace-tyres/ Share on other sites

Haven't looked in that area. Whatever you choose though, if it's a good sticky grooved race tyre certified for road use, it won't be cheap. To be honest, I have found the stock Dunlop Sp3000 17's quite a good tyre for grip on my ute..... up until I upgraded with my latest race HP-F tune tom Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/26977-roadrace-tyres/#findComment-408653 Share on other sites

Fitted a set of st115 azenis on the rear 265 35 18 great rubber traction is there now.sure it will smoke in first but throw into second & it just chirps hard throw it into 3rd & nothing no wheel spin. put it this way with the sp9000 smoke first second & 3rd no probs & it never pinged, now with st115 & full tank of juice it somtimes pings, wtf I need a retune because I changed rubber. They are very quiet, also I have been told they wear out quick, that the price you pay for traction I guess.CHEERS BB Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/26977-roadrace-tyres/#findComment-408700 Share on other sites

MT's on the street imo on a cold day are hopeless, also night time it's plain dangerous. I turn mine ( the MT's ) more on the way to the drags than my street tyres do on the same roads... All those newton-metres have to go somewhere! Expect driveline component life to be shortened greatly. Ford have built-in a sacrificial anode with a lousy clutch! An auto should be much kinder to most components, of course the transmission itself maybe the weak link.
