Hey there, I know this bloke that's selling his hard top that he used to have on his previous ute. Its the thin edge one, now I got a question coz hardtop is black and has some minor scratches from sitting in the shed I wanna know wheres the best place to paint and fit the hardtop in brisbane if any1 would know, and how much aprox would it cost. I can get this h/t for $450 prolly for even for 400 bux if I asked I know its cheap but how much will it cost me at the end :(

quoted from Ford panel shop $450 to paint, my advise if you can get the hard lid for $400 do it, then when you can afford it get it painted, make sure it comes with the struts and hinges as I was quoted $400 for those items

I think its got the struts, not sure about the hinges will check it out next time I go see him :). Did they fit it for u for 450 or ?. thanks for the info

aslong as you have all the parts they are not that hard to fit, the whole front section picks up a few holes orginially in the tub liner, u have to drill four holes, and you have to drill 4 holes in the tub liner itself to pick up where the struts go.

You'll need to go to Ford Spares and get the plugs that go in the holes that will be left once you remove the black buttons.

I fitted my own hardcover including the plugs it's not a hard job to do.

When you say it's a black hardcover you mean the one with the lip that covers the tub liner when it's down or do you mean the leather grain finished one?

If it's the leather grain finish forget it, they look horrid, and they don't cover the exposed lip of the tub liner when down.
