We perthites are not allowed to road register turbo V8's.

He might have a permit which allows him to drive to events or his mechanic etc, but as far as day to day commuting, red sticker if he gets caught..

Obscene waste of money, unless your a workshop displaying your abilities.

Yeah, but yours has had the bottom half built up too.  I think that'd bump the price up a tad. :)

Plus all the ancillaries and crappola u need on an engine. Pullies, ballancers, fuel setup, new clutch or trans rebuild etc.

I reckon +~$9k on the $10k. + install??

Personally, to get a reliable, long term 400rwkw on an XR base engine would be +$20k easily. If you buy brand name bits from a reputable tuner.

I could be wrong, but I wouldn't do it for much less if I was the tuner/workshop..

I posted this into the general discussion section, but apparently I heard from my bro that there was a 900kw (rumored) Light blue typhoon at Perth Burswood LS1 drive.

And also apparently it was flogging all the LS1 biggies.

The guy who owned the Porsche the same light blue F6 raced was quoting it had 350rwkw??

309rwkw to be exact, with injectors and exhaust only.

I'd say Ninka or Hiddeous would be prime candidates to answer this question. How about it guys? What does the entire build cost?

And what kind of ET will this get you?

As F6 UTE said, doing some quick sums $20k wouldn't be far off the cost, and that may not include trans strenghthening.

I guess with a good setup for the drags 10's or low 11's should be possible.

Don't know how long the stock LS1 bottom end would last with 400rwkw. A mate of mine with a supercharged LS1 split the block with 550rwhp. He fixed that by installing a 6ltr iron block. It made 727rwhp and featured in Perth Street Car about 18 months ago.
