That looks awsome mate, whats the P21S and where do you you get it from?

hey mate, I got it from WaxIt - about $50 a tub but lasts for ages.. I reckon I used maybe 5mm out of the whole tub which is about 5cm high???

http://www.waxit.com.au/proddetail.asp?prod=WA0001&cat=4

its a full carnauba wax and has the texture of hot butter when you wipe it on.. trippy stuff but seems to do the trick.. they reckon to wipe it off just before it dries so I was doing 2-3 panels at a time, then wiping off about 5mins later

nice work on a nice car, how long it take you to do that?

Also where did you get the zanio wax from?

took about 3 hours all up - 45-60mins for full wash and dry, then the polishing took the rest... BUT having zaino on it from months back made it much easier to get it ultra clean ready for polishing.. A full treatment of wash, clay, wash, dry, zaino, buff, P21S and buff could easily take a day

You can get the Zaino from WaxIt same as P21S..

If you've never used either before, I'd recommend claybarring first, then Zaino, then P21S...

Zaino lasts for months whereas the P21S being carnauba lasts the same as normal polish.. Zaino is more of a paint sealant..

I was a bit nervous bout opening this thread.....gf is away so you "polished" the "beast"....

hehehe seriously car looks great..id used the meguair quick clay on mine a couple of weeks ago and it came up very well.

my ute got covered in white over spary a couple of years back so I had to rub it back with a clay the spary painters use (3m make it)and the used some whizz bang polish that the spray painter recommend...damn hear wore my elbow out getting the sh*t off but fark it looked wicked....

hehe yeh I thought you'd like that one you devo haha..

clay is awesome hey - what polish did you use?? Zaino would look awesome on your purple paint, shiny as f*ck!!

Hey Nang, did you use one of the claybars off that site and also have you or anyone else for that matter had any success with a particular swirl remover?.

hey buddy,

yeh I used the pinnacle clay kit on the car originally.. although I have also used Zaino and the blue one (forgotten the brand)

to get rid of swirls I used Poorboys SSR1 ages ago which is a very mild abrasive - there are still swirls there but it removed a decent amount.. an orbital buffer would do a much better job though...

Polish the beast?

Well I'm a single man at the moment, but I wouldnt think about sharing such info. (Obviously Sydneysiders will be interested though, PM me for tasteful pics of me polishing my beast. I will be bringing out a scratch n sniff poster too if I get enuff interest) :pooh:

Although I have a date on wednesday night lined up so maybe someone else will be polishing my beast in the near future. :pooh:

what clay did you use? anyone recomend anything good? about to take a week off work and want to get my ute looking good.

hey buddy I used the Pinnacle clay detailing kit (lube+clay) from Waxit - its a finer grade of clay and works a treat..

http://www.waxit.com.au/proddetail.asp?prod=PIN511&cat=3

If I were you and assuming you have never clayed your car etc.. id recommend getting that kit, some Zaino Z2 Pro and if you have a darker or black car, the P21S..

Zaino gives your paint a hugely shiny and reflective finish, which looks particularly good on medium to lighter colour cars - it still does a good job on black but doesnt give it a very deep look, that's why I sometimes use the P21S over the top of the Zaino..

for a lighter car I'd do;

1.) wash with mild diluted alkaline detergent to remove previous polishes and road tar

2.) very thorough rinse and quick wash with quality carwash - Meguires or Zaino Z8 or whatever it is..

3.) claybar wet car with lubricating spray, 1 panel per time hosing off excess clay particles and lube etc.. do in the shade and in back and forth or up and down motions, not circular and dont press hard..

run your fingers over the newly clayyed surface and should feel like glass.. if there are any bumps redo that section..

4) wash entire car with carwash and dry totally.

5) apply Z2 Pro in horizontal strokes.. let dry and cure for an hour or two, then lightly buff off with microfibre towels

you can use the clay and Z2 on your windows as well, just make sure before you start you cut the claybar in half and put it away somewhere.. that way if you drop the other half you can throw it away and not scratch your car with the newly embedded sand etc
