Hi all,

Just wondering about the new 6 speed auto. How does it hold up against a modified engine with big torque numbers? Has anybody with this tranny modded their car and have they had any problems? Is there any transmission people who can strengthen them should the need arise?

Out of interest, does anybody know how much torque they are capable of handling (according to factory specs)?

Thanks....

hopefully about 240rwkw...not sure jEt

Don't you mean 420rwkw?

I know of one BF ZF auto with over 330rwkw that's hanging on ok.

I'd say any failures of the trans will more likely appear in the heavier Territory Turbo than the Falcon/FPV's.

They have a 600nm rating from the factory. Meaning they are designed to handle that much torque over the useful life of the car, which I think is considered 200,000km. There are versions rated to 850nm in V12 BMW's and Audi's. I think they will handle big torque pretty well as I've yet to hear of one breaking in boosted turbos.

I read that these things were a closed box, which case they can't be modded internally. Is that true? What's the go??

Someone put it together so it must come appart, just a matter of time :pooh:
