I would NOT  go with Casrol Edge as only their 5-30w Oil is a high quailty oil and still not fully synth, and its too thin, thier 10-60w oil would be the most sutilbe for the xr6t but is a lower quaility oil even though branded the same.

Where are you getting your info from? All edge variants except 25W50 are listed as fully synthetic. How is edge 5W30 high quality while 10W60 is lower quality.

I wouldn't get to hung up on the 15W40 the manual recomends, both edge 0W40 and 10W60 are approved for use by FPV so while it may only say 15W40 in the book there are effectivly several different weights that are recomended.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for your enquiry to Castrol Technical.

There are a number of Edge Grades that have been recently released, including Edge 0W/40, Edge Sport 5W/30, Edge Sport 25W/50 and Edge Sport 10W/60. These grades use a range of base stocks, for example, Edge 0W/40 uses PAO, Edge Sport 5W/30 uses Group III, Edge Sport 25W/50 uses Group I.

Im running Castrol Edge 10w-60 in ma Turb, and my bro is also running this oil in his 11psi Supercharger.

The castrol edge 10w 60, is regarded as ONE of the best oils in the world.

Most of the ppl from the streetcomodores forum also use this oil as they say "Every drop of this oil is well worth the $$$$$".

I personally would like to try out Royal Purple in the near future as theres loads of POSTIVIE FEEDBACKS from ppl that have tried it out!!!

San.

I'd love to know how anyone can tell the difference in performance between different oils in their car.

Each to there own, there are a sh*t loads of oils out there, as stated above if the oils you provide when servicing the car is covered under warranty make sure they document it so that the blame doesn’t fall back on you.

Can you explain that a little more?

You could stick olive oil in there and your gauge would show oil pressure.

Excatly, most people tend to think whatever oil they are running is the best and tell everyone how happy with brand X they are but unless your going to do a hundred thousand k's and pull the motor down for a look how do you know.
