My gearbox is starting to whine in 1st gear so does anyone know of an auto transmission specialist that is trustworthy in Newcastle. I know we have Gerry Wubbells but I have been told they are very expensive.

I did the yellow pages thing but I don't just want to take it in with an open cheque. Any feedback guys would be appreciated.

I know the place at Lambton ( ATS I think ) is one to stay away from. Might be time to get a full rebuild done? maybe a prestons box?

Toronto Automatics. They are pretty good. in the Whitepages. Whats wrong with ATS. They did do a good job on my EB Auto. Dont know about the newer stuff

Full rebuild 'eh.....all I gotta do is convince my wife. This couldn't have happened at a worse time cause we're building a house.

I went in there with a mate of mine. They told me that since I had put an aftermarket turbo and intercooler on my XR6 turbo, they wouldnt ever be able to fit a trans cooler to it. At that stage my car was stock standard factory. Stock FMIC. After I tried to explain to him that Ford make factory turbo Falcons, he then told me I was full of sh*t and Ford never has or will make a turbo.

Say no more.

I will try and get some contact details for prestons for ya. If u are thinking of maybe getting a bit more power later on it may be the way to go.

I rang every single automatic shop in newcastle when I wanted mine strengthened and everyone one except toronto said they wouldnt even open it and try, toronto said if I find the parts they will fit them. I ended up getting the $3000 box from prestons in melbourne, with 12 months warranty at up to 380rwkw, and I couldnt be happier, it shifts so much firmer and seams to put the power down alot better too. Deffiantely recomend them.
