Also when we went through the gates we were paying for our entries and they ran out of money, not off to a good start lol.

Apparently there is something happening in relation to us getting a venue, someone at work mentioned that up near the abbatoire at Whittingham there is Heavy Industrial zoned land there and there might be something happening. Anyone got any insight into that?

A coldie woulda killed me this afternoon after last night lol

Hah, forgot about the dam cow paddock! ... how bloody stupid was that ... I did like the one way in , one way out system..to bad when there was a klm back up of cars trying to get in . I actually asked for my money back after they closed in the spectator area for the motor events, that was my last straw, all they could say was we can direct you to the supervisor of the event to lodge a complaint, but there will be no refunds allowed blahblah1.gif

And Ryan your right about the water... I was not so much worried about us, but the amount of small children and pregnant women there ..... im thinking a major sh*t storm if they run out, Also with the Defect station as I did say in earlier posts, I knew the cops will be out in force letting us know they dont want us there..

BUT ... I do give props to the copper that did tell them that the event was too small for the amount of traffic and people entering... I left about 1 pm when it started getting bad. And I seriously saw about a 5 klm bank up of cars trying to get in.. all I could do was head_hurts_kr.gif

Wow what a dissapointment that event was after such a prolonged buildup. As soon as we arrived I was worried as the layout just looked all wrong and extremely disorganised. we got there early and there was still a masive line up and the officials directing the flow didnt know sh*t. I had pre entred and paid and the douche security guard told me I still had to line up. then I saw a few people going straight in and thought f*ck this im goin in and they had the tickets there waiting at the gate, straight in .. I talked to the guys at scruiteneering and they told me the racing was going to be full ANDRA spec 1/8th mile racing ( which I have done heaps at gunnedah) and that crap was no way near what an ANDRA spec 1/8th mile race was supposed to be. I cant beleieve we had to be a ANDRA licence for that, the track was only about 100mts long braking area was way too short and all the rest it was woefull. anyways I got done on my first run as I underestimated how slippery the track was and I messed up a gear change LOL oops. I was looking forward to the power skids but soon discovered the 16" rims will NOT fit on the back of my car :roflmbo: so I was over it by then and decided to pull the pin (thx for the offer of your spare rims too mitch but I was over it by then).

managed to get out without getting hassled by the police as we went a back way via branxton back home.

Anyways that my rant over, I hope if they decide to continue this event or plan any other big events in the hunter that they do a much better job next time.

How'd everyone else far with the cops when u were leaving?

Good to catch up with eveyone again too :dontknow:

and u guys that were short of water u should come over and seen us in the pits we had a 20L ice water dispenser there.

for the first time the show has been on I didnt think it was too bad, yeah their did need to be more shade and maybe a couple of grassy dirt mounds for people to see, but having my car in the event I thought it wasnt too bad. I made it into the fourth round of the drags( couldnt belkive I lost to a dirty old torana) I shouldve watched the flag... Mitch and I also got to do 3 powerskids so I think I got my monies worth. Always come back bigger and better

and Aaron I had 4 spare 17's you could of used...

Anyone got any MT's with a good couple of passes left in them?

We really do need a proper venue around here to cater for the Central Coast and Hunter people. We have a very healthy car car culture and car car culture is healthy. I think a proper venue could easily prosper around here and they'd have no trouble getting volunteers to help out.

Jeez I'm looking forward to the cruise and catching up properly.
