The phoon comes with one that fits directly onto the block (where the oil filter is) and then the oil filter screws to the cooler. The cooler is water cooled and goes inline with the metal line that comes out of the thermostat housing and goes round to the heater pipe. Mines a manual, so I don't have any thermo valve in that line (I think the auto does). That means I probably can just cut the line so I can tap into it for the cooler.I figured it was an easy install as all the parts are off the shelf, and if they use them on the phoon, FPV must have figured that a higher than standard power car probably needs one for engine durability. Also speaking with a mate, he said that the BA phoon uses the Boss oil filter (shorter in height), but there is sufficient clearance to use the stocko F9 filter. The BF cooler has a different oil filter thread so the preferred one to use is a BA type.I was going to do some track work, so I though the cooler was a good idea. Has anyone looked at this at all ?CheersRobin.

This would give you a good idea as to how its fitted, maybe get yourself a copy of the F6 manual CD?

I have a copy of the Ford manual for the XR series, but would be interested in a CD copy of an F6 manual if one exists ?Robin.

I know you were talking about the F6 setup, I just meant have you actually had a look at one close up to get an idea of how its positioned... It must have the smaller 'old' size thread on the end where it screws into the block, and a slightly larger thread on the opposite end where the oil filter goes.pm me if you need more info.Oil_Cooler.pdf

Every car I've ever owned had an AFL 1 oil filter.

I will certainly look into fitting one.BTW Did you find any improvement in engine temperature stability under load ?Thanks again,Robin.
