I heard *they* were waiting to make sure it could read/clear the BF ECU codes and clear the 'THIS CAR HAS EDIT' notification. As long as we get a fully functional unit sometime soon though.

Now, where's that Homer Tuner thread?  :spoton:

So the current edit leaves a footnote that it has had edit even if you put the stock tune back in?

I might have been a bit misleading in my statement. I'm not absolutely sure myself, but I understand that the BF ECU will log certain info & codes if something goes wrong. ie (my guess) you roll into Ford claiming warranty on your dud engine, and by reading the ECU, they can see that you were running 40psi and revving to 7000rpm.

I'm told that they can't tell if you've had Edit if you flash the factory tune back in, though some say they can by reading the date the ECU was last flashed etc.

For normal servicing no one will check im sure, but if you're trying to extract a new engine out of them under warranty and they think it's dodge, well they may or may not have the tools available to catch you out.

I simply don't know for sure. I'm sure the unscrupulous would certainly find it handy to have a tool that could read/clear such 'helpful' features of an ECU though. Not that anyone here condones any such thing

:pinch: :headhurt:

Will this be more flexible than edit or similar?

I understand it'll be the same from a tuner point of view ie they still use Advantage 3, and load their tunes into it. It's just the unit that we get that's different. Few more features, and 'user tweaks' available. Oh, and it'll clear/read ECU codes etc :spoton:
