Xtreme F6 do you have any results on the DI FILIPPO  3" System or even there Hi-flow 3" cat?

Cheers

BYI

I have Simon's SMB dump pipe and 5" cat on our F6 and I am running the Herrod catz back zorst and have 317rwkw.

The Herrod system is fine but if we were to get more kw from our baby I would change the catz back system as this is about the max this system can handle.

Simon has tuned our car from the start of our mods and he knows what he is talking about I have no doubt about that and has done the tests to a sh#tload 6T's and F6's GT'S and GTP'S and has the results out there to prove it just ask anybody on this forum who has there car tuned by him.

IMO the sound from the Herrod system is great and does not drone at all and if you have the cash to mod your car do it right the first time and have all the mods done at once as this will save you some coin on the dyno runs.

We use Herrod's Exhaust Systems in all stages of our Performanec Kits and have had great success.

The basics to any performance tuning is to help the engine breathe better and we achieve that using Herrod's Systems.

The standard exhaust is quite good, but we found Herrod's Systems to be a definite improvement in flow and provided a great exhaust note.

can you give us a dyno sheet and some figures of this definate improvement and flow figures of the better breathing?

Without entering a 'Dyno Figure War' , our success with Herrod's Exhaust System is factual and impressive. We admit the standard system is quite good, however we cannot deny the results and success of our Performance Kits.

Plenty of XR6T owners are making great power using the standard system and that's great. Each to their own in performance modifications and we use Herrod's Exhaust Systems.

you are right tony, look at it like this

Stock cat and dump flow 300 cfm

Stock exhaust flows 570 cfm.

WHats the restriction?

SMB dump and Magic 5 inch cat flows 998 cfm

Herrod dump and cats flows 578 cfm... pretty much same as the STOCK exhaust

So if the stock system flows 570cfm and a 3" pipe flows around 700cfm (from your recollection) wouldn't that go against the general belief that a 3"system (with straight through mufflers) is a step backwards from the stock twin 2 1/4 inch?

PS Sorry to hijack your thread byi :crybaby:

The standard 2 x 2.25" system will flow more than a single 3" system.

Just work out the area of the pipes :

Stock is 24.98 inches squared

Single 3" is 22.21 inches squared.
