Yes, point noted, BUT THEY ARE USELESS NOW!

Why...do we wait until they're completely erroded and we slide back to prior working conditions before there's another 100 year fight to achieve some form of equality?

It's like saying when you're not at war an army is useless. :pooh:

Nope – it’s like saying when you’re not at war a bow and arrow is useless.

I think you mean ineffectual rather than useless :pooh:

Update.

Put to a secret ballot last week 80% disapproved 20% approved.

New agreement

4.5% for each year.

Five year term.

Increase of another sickday without certificate (4days).

and retrenchment payout increased to 17years of service from 15year cut off.

O/T stays as time and a half for the first 3 hours, Double for 2 hours then back to time and a half for the next 3 hours.

Pretty sure this one will go through. :spoton:

Belated update for those that might be interested...

Got knocked on the head at the first vote 70%-30%, we had another vote a week later after more discussions and it went through 80%-20%, all signed and delivered 7 weeks back pay of the 4.5% this week gone.

The only thing we can put the turn around down to is that around 70% of the guys dont speak very good english and werent fully understanding what was being offered to them.

Here's to 5 years of peace. :pinch:

Unions served a purpose once, they were started by, controlled and managed by WORKERS, these days the union rep is a proffesional lobbist / sh*t stirer wh is out to scam a position in industry by making himself such a pain in the ass that manegment hire him.

these are the facts of life as they stand NOW not in the 50's

I resented being forced to join the University union, I had to so I could graduate. You ferkers have made an enemy for life. :spoton:

See the fair pay commission raised the minimum wage rate today - so much for the ‘unfair’ legislation. :spoton:

Tis a real shame it doesn’t benefit capitalistic cops such as myself though :pinch:

It amuses me all the advertising campaigns they have at the moment attempting to scare people as a ploy to boost their member numbers.  You'd get more assistance and satisfaction out of joining a bowling club FFS.

They need no help at the moment since Howards/employer group laws have come in people are signing up...

I have 2 mates employed fixing diesel trains never been in union and they were outcast as 90% of there shop is unionised, when the news laws come in there Boss told them to join the union.

The reason why is he told them he can’t look after them anymore if orders come from there corporate office for sackings, they would be target 1st because there not in any union it’s easier to p#ss them off 1st.

Least now they feel sucure about there job and they have a say in there EB.
