Guest newl Guests Posted 10/07/06 08:43 AM Share Posted 10/07/06 08:43 AM Luckily I haven't had to worry about such things. In the job I just left and the one I just walked into (even overlapping working days woohoo! heh) they stuck to the old methods which naturally makes the employees happy and less hassle for the employers too. Bad luck if you are unskilled, you should have done the work earlier on in life instead of pissn and drugn through your teens.I managed to get all of it done....and still have a few braincells left(only a couple Tab)My 2 centsCapitalist Johno

I have not met an mployer who wants to give you what you are worth, if it saves them money they will pay you what they want, we have just been offered $1 per hour per year for the next 3 years and reduce our redundancy payments by $40 per week to pay for the increase in the hourly rate, they want us to work saturdays for normal rate and give up our rostered days off, when we rejected this offer he took offence and has refused to negotiate any further, tell me if that's rair? not! I think the mere fact is that no matter who you work for you will get shafted by the boss none the less. and thanks to jonny u can be retrenched as there is no protection against the working class. Did ya slip ya mate jonny another$50.my 3 cents. This hasn`t affected me, but I do feel for people that are getting screwed and there are alot of them. When it doesn` affect you , you wonder what all the fuss is about but when it affects your mates you see the truth.Maybe talk to some of your mates that aren`t as fortunate as yourself or maybe they are all highly educated like yourself. Unskilled is another story....he has you by the nuts...and I agree its not fair. These laws havent even been mentioned at my work where we have at least 80 odd people. Due to the fact that everyone of them is required to run the engineering firm. Last time I checked it was the lowest unemployment level for quite some time...workers have the power in my game.
