I think I would sooner trust an edit rather than a powerchip

Mate this has been covered enough, do a search and read if you are interested. If you re read my post, I have said that I think the RDP system is a better option. I am by no means bagging the Edit, in the hands of a good and responsible tuner then they are an excellent tool in being able to achieve great results. They are readily available, relitively cheap and do a great job. It is no wonder they sell so well. But does that make them the absolute best option?

Sorry mate if this thread has gone off topic, I apprreciate the original post, and for us that have problems squeezing the cash out of the other halves, bargins brought to our attention can only be a good thing.

Scotty

hehe relax buddy I was only yanking ya, yes ther is pleny of better options than an edit, ie motec autronic, but yeh value for money I think edit wins hads down

I dont know mate, I know on this forum that this will not go down well, but I am not convinced that the edit is all that it is craked up to be. The RDP system to me, and I am only a lay person, appears to be a better option.

Scotty

Yep, and the world is probably flat...........

Going to try and nip this one in the bud, I have no argument with the Edit. I would suggest that the vast majority of problems associated with the Edit are either unsuitable tune, or the owner associated errors.

Having visted RDP and spoken with the guys up there I am impressed with their knowledge and the product they have available. For me it would appear to be a better option.

If you are trying to get a rise out of me then well done, you have achieved that, but I would prefer no negativity and sensible debate, as that can only enhance the coperate knowledge of the people in this forum.

Once again sorry to the bloke that started this post.

A bit exxy, just over $200, I know others have got it done for less.

Noise doesn't really seem to have changed, maybe under full throttle/peak revs but I haven't had a chance to test that theory yet!  :crybaby:

Ross, where did you have it fitted mate? And which cat did you get, the 4" or 5"?

And has the car been running okay since installation? No overboost/limp mode issues? I was just under the impression the factory ECU program may not be able to cope with the additional flow such a cat would provide - thought an Edit was needed? :spoton:

bugster, I had my cat installed with my factory tune in place. I was awaiting my edit, and waiting for my other bits to be fitted.. and the cat had to be done that day. Anyways, I drove around with the magic cat installed with factory ecu and I had no issues. Car did not over boost. I took it 5000rpm on a couple of occasions and it was fine. My afr gauge also showed that it was still running rich at WOT with the cat in place. From this, I assume that the factory ecu detected the change and retarded timing accordingly.

This was only the experience of my car.

When my car was being repaired under insurance, the exhaust shop fitted a different cat on strict orders I wanted the same :spoton: anyways, when I got the car back, it was overboosting about 1psi.. so perhaps the new cat is flowing better? or suits the set up better? Anyways, it was still fine and the car went ok.. but it wasn't left like that long, as Simon had my new tune ready soon afterwards and all is good.

Kimmy Scott if you dont want to get a new cluch then dont go for 250rwkw it will kill your stock one. Just go unichip/edit + 2ndCAI + K&N. Once you do injectors and cat your clutch will be teh slip master.

Now, Back on topic :P
