this 4' magic cat or a 3.5' metalcat would be the best 2 budget highflow cat upgrades u can put on the T to suit the stock exhaust just for power upgrade purposes.

I am not promoting the seller in any way, I dunno who they are at all, just found some good bargains for people wanting to mod their T's! :ermm:

I've read a lot of debate on the merits of the Metal Cats vs the Magic equivalent, but does anyone know for sure if the Magic Performance ones are legal? :idunno:

If you're to believe the hype on the Metal Cat website, the Magic cats are illegal (along with the XForce/Chinese cats). Metal Cat claim that their products are marked with a CA stamp to verifiy their legality. Anyone have any more info/knowledge about this please?

Any modification to your exhaust deems it illegal.

Unless you get an engineer's certificate to verify the change conforms to all the statutory regulations and requirements.

not sure bugster. but I did have a magic cat... and when my exhaust got replaced through insurance, the exhaust shop put something else there instead :gooff: looks to be a metal cat. I'm pretty sure the magic cat flows better.. but I ended up with a good result so I'm not gonna bother changing it.

unless you have the exhaust tested to see if it complies with ADR emmision compliance when making modicaitons its deemed illegal, only thing you can get away with is noise and that it has to be under 90db for cars post 1986 (I think)

A bit exxy, just over $200, I know others have got it done for less.

Noise doesn't really seem to have changed, maybe under full throttle/peak revs but I haven't had a chance to test that theory yet!
